national film awards 2023 winners list:The winners of the 69th National Film Awards were announced at the National Media Center in New Delhi on Thursday. The ceremony, which will be held at a future date, honoured the best Indian films produced across languages in the calendar year 2021. Feature and non-feature films certified by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) between January 1, 2021, and December 31, 2021, were eligible for contention.
The announcement of India’s highly anticipated cinema event – 69th National Film Awards concluded recently and the country is celebrating people who took home this coveted award. Streamed live on social media handles of I&B Ministry and PIB India, NFA’23 saw some of the most exciting films winning big.
Meanwhile, Vicky Kaushal-starrer ‘Sardar Udham’ and Alia Bhatt-led ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ also left a mark with several awards.

While Director Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri’s ‘The Kashmir Files’ won the Nargis Dutt Award for Best Feature Film on National Integration, Vishnu Mohan got the Indira Gandhi Award for Best Debut Film of a Director for his Malayalam movie ‘Meppadiyan’.

The film is based on the life of Nambi Narayanan, a former scientist and aerospace engineer at the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), who was wrongly accused of espionage and arrested in 1994 on charges of selling sensitive rocket technology secrets to foreign countries.

Director Vishnu Varadhan’s Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani-starrer ‘Shershaah’ got the special jury award for a feature film. It’s the story of PVC awardee Indian soldier Capt. Vicky Kaushal’s biographical historical drama ‘Sardar Udham’ bags the Best Hindi Film award. The movie is directed by Shoojit Sircar and stars Vicky in the titular role of Sardar Udham Singh, a revolutionary freedom fighter from India who is known for assassinating Michael O’Dwyer, the former Lieutenant Governor of Punjab, in retaliation for the Jallianwala Bagh massacre. Besides these, the movie also bagged other awards:
