This scheme is being implemented by the social welfare and nutritious meal programme department. Under this scheme, the cloth for the free supply of uniforms is supplied to the 32 cutting centres that are functioning under the control of the social welfare department. These clothes are cut in the cutting Centre. After that, the cloth is given to the concerned tailoring societies to stitch the uniform.

- Tamil Nadu Free Sewing Machine Scheme has been started by the Tamil Nadu State Government to benefit the citizens of the weaker section of the state, especially women.
