aiadmk candidate list 2024:The AIADMK on Wednesday released its first list of 16 candidates for the Lok Sabha elections in Tamil Nadu. This time, the AIADMK is contesting on its own, without any alliance with the erstwhile partner BJP. The party has fielded J Jayavardhan from Chennai South constituency, Royapuram Manohar from Chennai North, E Rajasekhar from Kancheepuram, AL Vijayan from Arakkonam, V Jayaprakash from Krishnagiri, GV Gajendran from Arani, J Bhagyaraj from Villupuram, P Vignesh from Salem, S Tamilmani from Namakkal, Ashok Kumar from Erode, and KRL Thangavel from Karur.

M Chandrahasan will contest from Chidambaram, P Saravanan from Madurai, VT Narayanasamy from Theni, and P Jeyaperumal from Virudhunagar.Earlier, MK Stalin’s DMK released its manifesto and candidate list. The party has fielded Kalanidhi Veeraswamy from North Chennai, Thamizhachi Thangapandian from South Chennai, and Dayanidhi Maran from Central Chennai.

The opposition AIADMK in Tamil Nadu on Wednesday named the first set of 16 candidates for the April 19 Lok Sabha polls in Tamil Nadu.In the list released by party General Secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami, the AIADMK has nominated former MP J Jayavardhan and ex-MLA, Dr P Saravanan.AIADMK on Wednesday released its first list of 16 candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections 2024.

The AIADMK on Wednesday released its first list of 16 candidates for the Lok Sabha Elections 2024. In the AIADMK alliance, DMDMK is to contest in 5 seats, SDPI in 1 seat and Puthiya Tamilagam in 1 seat, from Tenkasi constituency: AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami.

Filing of nominations for 1st phase

The nomination process for the first phase of the Lok Sabha elections, set to take place on April 19, has officially begun on Wednesday. This phase will witness polling in 102 Lok Sabha seats across 17 states and four union territories. The deadline for filing nominations for this phase is March 27, with the scrutiny of nomination papers scheduled for March 28. Candidates have until March 30 to withdraw their candidature. The Election Commission has announced that the counting of votes will be conducted on June 4.

Meanwhile, DMK too released its manifesto and first candidate list for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, in the presence of Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin, DMK MP Kanimozhi and other party leaders. As per the list, the party fielded Dayanidhi Maran from Central Chennai, A Raja from Nilgiris, Kanimozhi from Thoothukudi and TR Baalu from Sriperambathur.

In a press conference, Edappadi Palaniswami announced AIADMK candidates. According to the list unveiled by the party, AIADMK has nominated former MP J Jayavardhan, son of former MLA Jayakumar and former MLA Dr P Saravanan. Additionally, the list comprises several senior party officials.

AIADMK Alliance

Talking to the reporters, the former Chief Minister emphasised that the AIADMK is not reliant on alliances for its electoral success. 

The AIADMK chief listed a few parties who continue with the AIADMK alliance including Puthiya Tamizhagam, SDPI, DMDK and Manithaneya Jananaya Katchi. The party has confirmed the allotment of 5 seats to DMDK. 

Earlier, AIADMK severed ties with National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the state. Later, the BJP formed an alliance with PMK in TN. 

The elections for 39 Lok Sabha seats in the state are scheduled for April 19.
