The newly elected Chief Minister D.K Shivkumar has announced a 50% rebate on the pending traffic challan fines. This is the huge announcement by the Karnataka Government, especially for those who are still waiting for their pending traffic challan to be waived off. In a major relief to vehicle owners, the Karnataka government on Thursday announced a 50% concession on pending traffic e-challan fines and certain transport department penalty cases.The waiver will be available from June 21 to July 10, allowing motorists to settle long-pending violations by paying only half the prescribed fine amount.The decision was taken following a proposal from the Karnataka State Legal Services Authority ahead of the National Lok Adalat scheduled for July 11. According to the Government Order issued by the Transport Department on Thursday, the concession applies to all pending traffic e-challan cases registered by the police department up to May 2026.

Officials said similar schemes implemented in the past had received an encouraging response. During the last concession period in November-December 2025, over 77.4 lakh traffic violation cases were settled, resulting in the collection of nearly ₹201 crore in fines. In addition, 902 transport department cases were resolved, generating about ₹29.66 lakh in revenue.

When Can Bengaluru Vehicle Owners Apply Settle Traffic Challans On Concession?
The window to settle traffic challans on concession will start on June 21, 2026 and will close on July 10, 2026. “This concession is available from 21st June 2026 to 10th July 2026. During this period, people with pending traffic fines can take advantage of the scheme and clear their dues by paying half of the amount owed,” the notification added.

Before applying to settle for traffic challans, residents must get details about their pending traffic challans. Follow the below steps to view and pay the pending fine details.
-Download and install the Karnataka State Police (KSP) application.
