In view of the ‘Ram Lalla Pran Pratishtha’ the Chandigarh administration has declared a complete holiday on January 22.
The notification issued by the Home department of the Chandigarh Administration Friday said, “The Ram Lalla Pran Pratishtha at Ayodhya will be celebrated on 22nd January, 2024 across India. To enable employees to participate in the celebrations, it has been decided that all the Government Offices/ Boards/ Corporations/ Institutions, including Industrial Establishments under the Chandigarh Administration, will be closed on 22nd January, 2024.

The BCPH chairman’s letter says, “Pran Pratishtha ceremony is to be held on January 22, 2024, in Shri Ram Mandir, Ayodhya which is being celebrated by the entire country including the legal fraternity… and many of the Advocates from the States of Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh are likely to pay their visit to Ayodhya Dham to witness the historic moment. The entire festival is a week-long affair culminating (in the) installation of (the) idol of Ram Bhagwan.

“Keeping in view the same, already many state Governments including (the) state of Haryana (have) declared a holiday in all the institutions, Government offices, etc. to enable the people to celebrate the said festival. So much so even the Central Government has declared a half-day holiday in all the Central Government institutions and many Tribunals following the same have already ordered for a holiday/half day holiday,” adds the letter by Singla.

According to reports the inauguration of the Ram temple in Ayodhya will be undertaken by the Prime Minister who will also be the chief guest of the event.
