He launched these initiatives after inagurating the Integrated District Offices Complex of Mancherial and the BRS district party office here.
The Chief Minister handed over cheques worth Rs 1 lakh each to beneficiaries Kundarapu Murali from Velmapalli village in Kotapalli mandal and Mamidi Satyanarayana of Bheemaram mandal centre. He also gave cheques to beneficiaries of the second phase of sheep distribution scheme to Avula Venkatesh from Kasipet village in Thandur mandal and Bolaveni Odelu of Hajipur mandal headquarters. He handed over of Rs 3 lakh to Birudula Laxmi and Thotapalli Lavanya, beneficiaries of Gruhalaxmi scheme from Donabanda village in Hajipur mandal.
Rao said that an action plan was prepared to extend the sheep distribution scheme to 3.86 lakh beneficiaries in the district alone.

The state government’s newly-launched one lakh financial assistance scheme for the Backward Classes (BCs) engaged in caste-based occupations has evoked good response from applicants. The online applications touched 53,000 within five days of the state government launching the portal.MLAs will distribute cheques to beneficiaries in their respective constituencies on the 15th of every month.
The deadline to submit applications is June 20 and the government expects lakhs of applications.Selection committees, headed by district collectors, have been constituted all over the state. The final selection list will be released with the approval of the district in-charge ministers.The new scheme was launched on June 9 as part of the decennial celebrations of the state formation day. The state government has launched an exclusive portal for online submission of applications.

Minister for BCs Gangula Kamalakar on Monday reviewed the status of the online applications with officials at the Secretariat. He said that the application process was made online to ensure transparency and curtail irregularities.There is no need for applicants to approach brokers or officials or bribe anyone. They can submit applications online. Selection will be based on merit. Applications will be accepted until June 20.”
The selected beneficiaries will each get one lakh in financial assistance, which they can use to purchase tools and raw materials required to go about their occupations.The government will disburse the total amount as a grant. There will be no bank linkage and there is no need for repayment”, Kamalakar said adding that this will be a continuous process.
The minister also launched a portal to facilitate BC students to apply for admissions in 703 BC pre-matric and post-matric hostels in the state. The entire admission process has been made online for the first time.

BC Welfare and Civil Supplies Minister Gangula Kamalakar on Tuesday unveiled the online portal for applications under the newly proposed grant of Rs 1 lakh to BC and OBC beneficiaries in their pursuit of caste-based occupations.
Scheduled to be officially launched on June 9 at Mancherial by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, the programme will be simultaneously launched by Ministers, MLAs, and others in their respective Assembly segments.
Applicants are required to submit their Aadhaar card, caste and income certificates, and other documents through the web portal between June 6 and June 20. The selection process will take place from June 27 to July 4, with district officials responsible for scrutinising the applications and selecting eligible beneficiaries.
While the government has announced that the scheme will be implemented in phases, the precise number of beneficiaries is yet to be disclosed. The initial phase is expected to include approximately 50,000 beneficiaries, with further expansions expected in the future.
This initiative follows the recent announcement made by the State Cabinet, outlining the programme’s framework for BCs/OBCs. Subsequently, the Cabinet subcommittee chaired by Kamalakar, finalised the guidelines for the scheme and launched the online application form, marking a crucial step towards its implementation.
