Thaimaman Gold Ring Scheme 2026: The proposed “Thaymaman Gold Ring Scheme” (தாய் மாமன் தங்க மோதிர திட்டம்) has recently become one of the most discussed welfare promises in Tamil Nadu politics. After actor and political leader Vijay’s party, TVK (Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam), spoke about the scheme, social media platforms like YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram became flooded with discussions and videos about it.

Under this scheme, the Tamil Nadu government will celebrate the birth of every child. Under this scheme, each newborn will receive a gold ring as a token from the Tamil Nadu government as a blessing. Additionally, they also get a baby welcome kit, in which all the essential items required for a newborn will be added.
According to the announcements and political discussions, the scheme may provide a Gold Ring and Baby Care Kit for newborn babies in Tamil Nadu. However, it is important to understand that the scheme has not officially launched yet. No official Government Order (G.O.), online portal, or application form has been released by the Tamil Nadu government so far.
Thaai Maaman Gold Ring Scheme
This is a very unique and different type of scheme proposed by the TVK Party before the election. Newborns of Tamil Nadu get a gold ring from the state government. This is totally a gift for a newborn baby. Additionally, the government will give a baby welcome kit in which all the essential items like baby clothes, nutritional supplements, baby soap, oil and baby powder are included. With this mosquito net, napkins, and diapers are also a part of this kit. Right now, there is no government order or application forms released. After the legislative assembly election TVK get 108 seats TVK Get 108 Seats, DMK got 59, and AIADMK got 57 seats. TVK became the largest single party, but they do not have the numbers to make a government. After that, TVK allied with Congress, CPI, and a few other small parties and formed their government.

Eligibility Criteria for the TVK Gold Ring Scheme
- Only the permanent residents of Tamil Nadu are eligible for this scheme.
- A gold ring will be provided to the newborn baby who is born in Tamil Nadu.
- Your income should be within the limit set by the Tamil Nadu government.
- This gold ring will be provided to new born baby’s family as a support who are not financially well-off.
- Priority will be given to the economically poor families.
- New-born baby take birth in government hospitals will get preference.
