This new age train will be flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on April 25, 2023. This is going to be the fifth blue and white colour train to be launched by the Prime Minister this month.Earlier in the month, the Prime Minister had launched semi-high speed Vande Bharat Express trains on four different routes – Rani Kamlapati-New Delhi, Secunderabad-Tirupati, Chennai-Coimbatore, and Ajmer-Delhi Cantonment.

The ‘Kerala Vande Bharat’ train is likely to start its service from Thiruvananthapuram Central railway station at 5.10am, which was its departure time during the first trial run. However, the timings of Venad Express and some other trains would be changed by 10-20 minutes in order to enable the smooth running of Vande Bharat. A final decision on these timings would be taken by the Southern Railway, said officials.
The officials pointed out the similar changes in the timings of other trains were announced during the launch of Bengaluru-Chennai and Coimbatore-Chennai Vande Bharat services.The Railway authorities also informed that when the Vande Bharat starts trips from both sides together, the departure time of the two services will be the same.

The Vande Bharat trains are expected to have a minimum ticket price of Rs 297 and a maximum ticket price of Rs 2150 for a journey. For a 50 km trip, the chair car fare is proposed to be around Rs 241, while the executive chair car fare is estimated to be Rs 502.
The shortest journey on the Vande Bharat Express is between Thiruvananthapuram and Kollam. Based on current estimates, a one-way ticket for the chair car would cost approximately Rs 291, while an executive chair car ticket would cost around Rs 614.
For the journey from Thiruvananthapuram to Kannur, passengers would have to spend Rs 1100 for chair car and Rs 2150 for the executive chair car.
Meanwhile, the ticket rate will be Rs 441 and Rs 911 for Thiruvananthapuram-Kottayam, Rs 520 and Rs 1070 for Thiruvananthapuram-Ernakulam and Rs 617 and Rs 1260 for Thiruvananthapuram-Thrissur and Rs 801 and Rs 1643 for Thiruvananthapuram-Kozhikode.
